Have cruised on RCCL many times, mega ships and all their other sizes ships, but Grandeur was a really great experience. First, living in central PA to drive to Baltimore is a snap. The day we got on the ship 12/9 it was snowing and it just added to making this pre-Christmas cruise special. It was fun seeing crew members taking pictures of each other because they had not seen snow. There seems to be a different atmosphere on this ship. EVERYONE, other passengers, and crew, were some of the most friendly we have experienced in many cruises. Other who had taken this cruise had mentioned this but it is true. The itinerary was wonderful in that we had not been to 3 of the islands visited. Food, entertainment, wait staff, cabin steward were all top notch. All 9 of us at are table are going in 2018.

We were the first mid-size ship to dock in St Maarten since the hurricane, and they had signs everywhere welcoming us. Our shore excursion was cancelled because the tour could not travel on the French side, still much damage. Only about 50% of the shops were open in Phillipsburg, others were sill damaged. Went to a shop "The American Gift Shop" to see the owners because we have shopped there for 10 years when ever we stop in St Maarten's. They were there and shop open, we and they were happy to see each other, there on Front Street #127-A, wonderful family owned business.

Oh the highlight of excursions was the Volcano and "mud bath experience" on St Lucia it is a 5 1/2 hr excursion but he tour guide was excellent and the hot water bath before the mud was unbelievable!!! Just a great cruise vacation...
