We chose this sailing as we had booked it 2 years ago and had to fly home after 2 days due due to a family illness, we chose Aquaclass having twice sailed at that level before and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience in the Blu Restaurant. Overall we enjoyed our cruise meeting some interesting people some of whom we remain in touch with but there were disappointments especially the dining experience in Blu. The food was at best average with some portion sizes frankly laughable, for example my wife ordered scallops for her entree one evening, it arrived with just one small scallop about the size of a grape, service was also hit and miss and not as expected, for example one morning at breakfast after not being served any drinks or our food order taken after 15 minutes sitting at our table I had to call the maitre'd over to get some service, really not good enough. We had booked a 4 speciality restaurant package also, eating in Murano - decent food but very pretentious, Tuscan Grille - again food was OK but a bit bland, Lawn Club Grill - again good food but found the concept of a large pizza for entree then a main course of steak a bit strange, lastly we ate in Qsine - best food on the cruise but make sure you arrive very hungry as there are half a dozen courses. We also enjoyed the food in the Ocean View buffet restaurant and the burger bar, eating in the former most lunchtimes and at some breakfasts. Being a cappuccino lover we visited cafe al baco twice a day, enjoyed the coffee but they really do need to inform people a bit better that queuing is for take away only and take a seat for "drink in" this confusion led to me reprimanding one of the staff for being rude to my wife on one occasion. Our favourite bars were the Martini Bar and the Ensemble lounge with the bartenders in both being excellent. We are not really up for the entertainment in the theatre but went twice and enjoyed the shows, also enjoyed some of the artists playing in various parts of the ship but disco was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. Didn't use the spa and so cannot make any comment, did use the fitness suite which I found good with plenty of availability of equipment to use. The shops in our opinion were poor, overpriced with timeshare tactics by the Omega watch merchants! Have never been a fan of the ships photographs and this time was no exception. Overall the ships public areas were spotlessly clean both inside and out with plenty of sunbed availability even on sea days. To conclude we did enjoy our cruise but would not book Aquaclass again, our recommendation would be to book a standard balcony stateroom and then prebook the speciality restaurants to cover each night of your stay, the costs of which would be about the same and oh if you like a tipple definitely book the Premium Alcohol Package even if you get the Classic free it's worth upgrading.

Cabin Review

AquaClass
Cabin A2 1511
Cabin overall was good with the following comments;
*There was a hole in the bedsheet which you do not expect on this class of sailing
*There were a few "beard" hairs behind the basin tap when we boarded that were still there when we disembarked therefore question thoroughness of cleaning.
*Disappointing that daily restock of free water now not included in Aquaclass which we discovered after being charged $6.95 for a bottle of Evian (And we had Premium Drinks Package!!)
*Daily Canapes which are included in Aquaclass were extremely sub standard
Enough toilet rolls & tissues stored in bathroom to last about 3 months!! better too many than too few I suppose :-)
