I chose this cruise for 2 reasons: it allowed me to visit southern locales without flying through San Juan .. i.e., more time on the ship and less in an airport; and I wanted to see how I'd do on a 9-day cruise. Embarkation was great, and disembarkation was surprisingly smooth (was a bit unusual because of the new terminal being constructed in Fort Lauderdale). Ship was lovely, cabin as well, dining in Blu was great as usual, service outstanding, and excursions were fine. The maitre'd in Blu was terrific ... my cabin steward as well. My headline says every cruise is a different kind of fun .. which is so true, for me at least. I feel the people on board is what makes a cruise uniquely special. This particular cruise, perhaps because of the duration, perhaps the time of year ... was more sedate that some of my other cruises. The passengers were older so some of the musical entertainment suited them more than me (i.e., big band.) On the other hand, i thoroughly loved a 4-piece blues group, the lead vocalist was insanely-talented, and I swear the lead guitarist was channeling Stevie Ray Vaughan when he played. I hope I seem them again on another cruise .. or somewhere ... sometime. Martini bar was hopping every night, comedians were great. I like the fact that there is a small venue vs. the theatre for some performances. I also like the fact that Celebrity records excursions and on-board events and get-togethers, then compiles them as a remembrance for purchase (ok, well that's a little expensive but its optional). The best is to catch a glimpse of yourself among the snippets compiled on the dvd. It was all good and I can't want until my next Celebrity cruise (in 12 weeks, LOL!)
