Entertainment on Labadee Haiti
The ship from the beach in Labadee.

Wanted to try one of the big Royal Caribbean ships. Embarkation and debarkation were the best/easiest we have ever experienced. The staff and passengers throughout the week were all very friendly. The ship never felt crowded ever. There were so MANY activities to choose from throughout the day and evening. And plenty of quiet places day or night. One negative was the piano bar is positioned near the waterfall which made absolutely no sense whatsoever due to the noise of the water. Also, the aqua show was a huge let down. Definitely expected more talent. They seemed to be just going through the motions. Perhaps it was just an off day for them. Our waiter in the main dining room was fabulous but the assistant waiter was not so good. The food in the main dining room was just average this cruise. Breakfast in Johnny Rockets was horrible; I don't even know what happened that morning. But 5 out of 6 meals were dry, cold, horrible and they weren't very busy. We traveled with my mother (77) and three sons (one teen and two in their 20's). Everyone had fun, but not as much fun as on some of the other cruises we have been on. We didn't love or dislike the ship or the experience. Labadee Haiti was fabulous! One of the best ports we have ever experienced. That is not to be missed.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D5

Cabin was fine. Average for an Ocean View Balcony Cabin. The couch and the connecting door (we had the cabin next door also - #14160) were near the bathroom instead of near the balcony. We prefer they be near the balcony. Also, the separations on the balcony could not open in between our two cabins like they have on other ships when we got adjoining balcony cabins. We liked that we were closer to the elevators. And having the jacuzzi right above us was not a problem at all.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

For embarkation and debarkation, this Port is excellent. Distance from the airport is not so good because of the added cost for travel from the airport to the ship. We stayed in a hotel near the airport and paid $20 per person each way for travel from our hotel to the cruiseport and then from the cruiseport to the airport.

St. Thomas

This port is always nice. And can use our cell phone since it is part of the U.S.

San Juan

We were able to use our cell phones since it is part of the U.S.! Called my doctor for a prescription and he called it into the Walgreen's at the end of the pier. By the time I got off the ship and walked to the end of the pier, my prescription was ready!

Labadee

Beautiful island. Not to be missed. So much to do. Or just do nothing and relax!
