We chose this trip because it fit into our schedule and for no other reason. It was a premium week and the prices were jacked up as it is everywhere. Having traveled on Carnival before we had some idea of what to expect. Nothing high end, but clean and most of the employees are very hard workers. The designers were extravagantly awful. Terrible colors and lots of odd choices. It looked like we had fried eggs above our dining table. The food is plentiful but not very good (we also expected that). Breakfast is your best bet. The entertainers were high energy and overall pretty good. The cabin was OK, nice balcony. Our dining staff was less attentive than some but still OK. Our biggest issues were around excursions. Our first was scheduled for 10:15 and we were told to meet in a specific dining room to wait for our tender. We arrived early and sat for more than 30 minutes before we were told to get on the boat. We arrived and went straight to the information center only to be told that our tour had left half an hour earlier! We were eventually reimbursed but we still had our plans ruined and on 2 occasions we were told that this must have been our fault. To make matters worse, this was on Half Moon Cay, an island leased by Carnival, and every step of the plan was done by them!! Our next excursion was to Blue Lagoon Island in the Bahamas. We spent a time with sea lions which was pretty cool but were then told that we were not going to be able to get back to the boat for about 3 hours. There was nothing more that we wanted to do there and this was again poor planning (or perhaps just manipulative planning as we had to stay for lunch (a less than quality buffet for 20 dollars per person).
