We booked a cruise for 22 of us : extended family for Christmas. Youngest was 11 and oldest 78. Overall it was a good venue for multiple ages of family. Unfortunately, they could not book all of our rooms together (we booked 8 months in advance) and we were spread all over the ship. This didn't help the "family cruise" feel. We all had balconies which were good sized. Room steward was very good and attentive.
Food was okay: not spectacular but fine for a cruise. Ship was very crowded because of the holiday so you had to get out early to get a pool chair and it often felt overwhelming in the Lido deck dining areas.
Entertainment was cruise good. Nothing to write home about - in fact, the activities that involved the guests themselves were the best shows and Carnival ought to think about doubling those and getting rid of a few paid dancing and singing shows.. Activities on the ship were a bit redundant after 3rd day at sea.
Went to Stone Island. Nice little beach with lots to do. Prices good and not far from the cruise ship. I've been to some really nice beaches in my lifetime so hard to compare this beach in my head. But we had a great time!
We went to the zoo. Highly interactive: feed all the animals. The zoo is a real through back to the 1930s america zoos..very very sad. But in some ways reminded me of when I was a kid and we could actually interact with the animals. WE also held the baby puma, cougar and tiger. (for an extra $50.00 pp!) Will return just to interact with the animals but not hold the babies. Went to Mismoyla beach: very crowded : we'd been there before so were surprised but figured out it was school holiday after xmas in Mexico. All the beaches were crazy!
