our first cruise, and overall very disappointed in everything from quality of food, decor of balcony stateroom, to entertainment. our stewart and the staff were wonderful, BUT ship is outdated. food is terrible!! even serves powdered scramble eggs. couldn't believe poor quality of food. don't buy beverage packages - total waste of money!!!! Yucatan port is a waste of time. do an excursion if you go, but know that there isn't any decent retail, excursions 40 mins to 2 hrs away, so will monopolize your time. wish we'd done more research before we booked, as we wouldn't have chosen this cruise line and ship. day 4 and we are still suffering from bubble guts. not a cruise for anyone who wants tasty food. kids everywhere, taking over hot tubs. not happy with overall experience. will NEVER take another Carnival cruise. disappointing shows/activities. Cozumel port was great, recommend taking a cab to downtown ($8 - visit shops/restaurants several blocks away from beach). be prepared to haggle- very aggressive vendors. really wish we could say something more positive. actually angry we wasted our money on this cruise line. we thought it was going to be a nice Christmas holiday cruise. IT WAS NOT.

very outdated. horrible pink tiles and even things like blow dryer something from 1970s. it was clean and bed was comfortable but VERY outdated.
Port Reviews
Progreso
We cancelled our excursion because was 40 mins away. Would have taken entire day and heard from others not that great. Some excursions are 2 hrs away, so will only get to spend an hour away. There is a bus that shuttles you to duty free area. It will take up some time. If you want to shop, this is not the port to do it. Just a waste of time. Not interested in visiting Yucatan again.
Cozumel
Shopping was great in Cozumel. Be prepared to haggle. Very aggressive vendors. Take a cab to downtown ($8) and walk several blocks away from beach to eat at restaurants where locals eat and see different shops.
