We have recently returned back home to Australia after doing the Coastal Classic cruise, although we have done a few cruises from Australia around the Pacific Islands, we found this cruise rather average.Embarkation was great,30 minutes from the time the shuttle reached the port till we were on board.Headed straight to the bar, friendly bar staff,Budlight & Coors, how does anyone drink that water, found a beer called Bass which was more drinkable haha.Maintance crew knocked on our door before the ship sailed, telling us they will be changing the carpet the next day,its a joke right haha.Eventually changed it in San Diego.Sailway was a bit of a fizzer after being used to Australian ships, does everyone hide in their cabins haha.Never ate in the Dining room, but the food in the bistro areas was awful,no flavour.Breakfast wasnt much better, hard to get a table, staff seemed confused about nearly everything.Ask one person a question & you would get a different answer from the next person you asked.Bar staff were awesome tho,we talked to a few & they said food staff get a bit rude due the constant complaing of American cruisers haha. Some staff we talked to had been on Australian ships & reckon its a lot better to work on ,as its a lot more laid back,i totally agree.Cabins were nice & clean,& the staff couldnt do enough for you.Beds were so comfortable,we had a oceanview room as we only use it to sleep in.The itinerary was fantastic, thats why we picked this cruise.San Fran was great ,got up early to sail under the bridge.Did a harbour cruise, rode the trams & met up with our nephew & his new wife for dinner at Bubba Gumps on one of the piers, fantastic views.Montery was so nice, ended up at a pub & when they found out we from Australia, free drinks all arvo, woohoo.Sailaway was so pretty with the sunset, but hardly anyone around, the band was there but only played a few songs,is everyone still hiding in their cabins haha.San Dieago was nice, but as we had been here before, went barhopping in the Gaslamp Quarter.Escanada was a bit different, being forever followed by young children wanting you to buy something,Was a humble experience wandering thru the streets, tho we did find a great Cantina with high octone margaritas & good cheap beer.Nice sailaway at the back of the ship with no one around haha.Enertainment on the ship was fairly average.Happy hour was super cool,we clawed some money back from Princess Ruby.We kept running into the same people all the time which was great. The ship was nearly all but deserted after 10pm.Always ended up at the casino to finish up for the night. It was a bit more lively down there with most patrons having a pulse. It was a great cruise but dont think we would use Princess again as it looked so tired & worn out.If you can get something good out of a holiday,we always have fun.
