The Celebrity Reflection is one of the finer ships on the sea. We just completed our 56th cruise with Celebrity, about 90 cruises with 15 cruise lines altogether. For years we looked forward to the day we would achieve Celebrity's top tier loyalty category of Zenith. Finally did it about two years ago. On this our 56 Celebrity cruise we were treated pretty much like first timers. The very thing that I told the world about for years was the "Celebrity Family". Since our first cruise on Celebrity in 1996 we have felt we were family and that was the Celebrity we grew to know and love.

Not so any more. The only thing that seems to matter with Celebrity is that you are in a suite and or have dropped lots of money in the casino on previous trips. It appears that Celebrity has a program where they call their big spenders (losers) and offer very cheap upgrades. Even after 50 cruises we have never got a call for a cheap upgrade. I discovered this program only after we were the top cruiser on a previous cruise and enjoyed the story of a fellow passenger who was happy about his very cheap upgrade from Concierge to Celebrity Suite for a few hundred dollars. The Marketing Department tells me that they have no control and do not even get the upgrade list.

The Celebrity Reflection is a great ship with a great crew. The big disappointment is that loyalty no longer matters. Makes me want to cry.
