Sail Date: Dec 2017
Cabin: Boardwalk View Stateroom with Balcony

I traveled on this sailing with my Dad, who is a senior. I'm in my early 40s and this was the first time we have sailed as just the two of us. We have each been on 25+ cruises and probably 10+ on RCL.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites by the port pre-cruise. My Dad found the hotel acceptable (he's gotten spoiled lately at the Ritz and other similar properties), while I enjoy staying at this hotel. My Dad was there for three nights, while I flew in late the day prior to embarkation, and only spent about 6-7 hours in the room. I like the size of the suite room and found everything just fine. I like the big open space inside the hotel and the breakfast is good, although not great.

We left for the ship via Uber at about 10:30am. This was pretty quick and only about $6. This is a far better option than booking the hotel shuttle, where you have to be on other people's schedules and cram into a 15 passenger van, not to mention pay $8 per person. Even a taxi would be a better option than the shuttle, although it will cost a bit more than Uber. We were through security and check-in in about 15 minutes, and were able to get on the ship right away.

Cabin Review

Boardwalk View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin B2

Our cabin was one of the best I can remember. We had a Boardwalk balcony room. We did not experience any noise from down below, and we had a decent view of the ocean. I liked that our cabin came with a free meal at Johnny Rockets and two free soda packages, although they were hardly used. As I mentioned, the cabin was kept spotless by Manuel. The shower is a little bigger than others I remember, and it has a glass door. The storage was great, and the cabin seemed larger than others, and it had a large sofa by the balcony across from the desk. There is plenty of shelving and storage for two people.
