EURODAM REVIEW Nov. 28 - Dec. 5, 2009 Cabin 5049
PRE-CRUISE We had an uneventful drive from our home on the west coast of Florida to Ft. Lauderdale on Friday afternoon, Nov. 27. We checked into the Hyatt Pier 66 and were given a room with a balcony that faced the cruise port so we could see all the ships getting ready to depart on Friday afternoon. Oasis of the Seas was preparing to leave on one of her pre-inaugural cruises. She is monstrous. We decided we'll always look at her itineraries in the future to be sure we don't book a cruise that is in the same port with her. Any island she visits will be overwhelmed with passengers.
After watching the ships sail out of Port Everglades, we headed to our favorite pre-cruise restaurant - Il Mulino on Sunrise: http://www.ilmulinofl.com/. After dinner we stopped at Borders so I could pick up a book for the cruise since I forgot to pack one. There is plenty of shopping between Sunrise and Las Olas Blvd. For anything you may have forgotten.
Cabin 5049 is close to the forward elevators and stairs. It has ample room with a nice loveseat, sufficient storage, a good size bathroom with shower and tub and was very quiet. Balcony was a nice size and had two wicker chairs (one with an ottoman) and a small round table.
