This was our first family cruise. We chose Carnival Elation as the dates and location worked for us. We flew from Toronto to Jacksonville and stayed at Jacksonville Plaza. Their shuttle was half the price of that offered through Carnival.

Our room was tight with four. I traveled with three children: 15, 20 and 23. Two rooms was not an option due to children's ages as at least one person per room needed to be 25+. However, rooms were well designed with good storage and we found that we were only in the room to sleep anyway! I had wanted a balcony but these were not available so we had an ocean view. The room was clean and bright. Housekeeping came once daily per our request. (Two times a day was offered.)

Food was phenomenal! Our meals were delicious and service was friendly. Drinks were a bit pricey but it turns out they were all doubles. Single options would have been preferred though.

Our room was well-designed for four. Although a bit crowded, the furniture arrangement and cupboards/shelves made good use of space. Bathroom was equipped with a toilet, sink and shower. We appreciated the stairs as they provided good exercise given all the food we ate!
