The Caribbean ports were good too tho we had several port changes after hurricanes destroyed some destinations. St Thomas was still awful with debris everywhere. Our favorites were St Kitts and Tobago. Beautiful islands.
In Manaus we took the Meeting of the Waters tour with Do Brazil Right and it was a excellent tour, a bit of everything. We saw the rain forest, swam with the pink dolphins, fishes, visited an indigenous village, had a good lunch and more. Our guide was very good. Belem is a bit of a pit and our Do Brazil Right guide there was not very good. Santarem requires you to be adventurous, we liked walking around the town and next to the river and had lunch of amazon fish.
Boca de Valeria very special and Alter do Chao gorgeous - hire a boatman in both places to take you around.
Dining and service were tops on this ship, the best we've had on HAL. Ketut S was our waiter and he was fantastic. The singers and dancers were very good too. The rest if the entertainment varied. The Americas Test Kitchen is a new thing that I hope they keep. The library needs updating but be thankful they have one, I hear HAL is getting rid of the libraires whichis a bad more!
There is a special intimate atmosphere on this ship which is very special.

Bathroom has no medicine chest only shelves. Note: only one electrical outlet. Two if you have a European to US plug converter so bring an extension cord with several sockets. Ship has a laundry but every time went it was full.

ArubaIsland pretty dull but Eagle Beach is amazing. After the tour we had the driver drop us at Eagle Beach for a couple of hours and he came back and picked us up and drove is back to the ship. He didn't ask but we gave him an extra tip.View All 12,780 Aruba Cruise Port Reviews

ManausMeeting of the Waters is a must do traveling by speedboat up and down the river. We swam with dolphins, walked in the rain forest briefly, had an amazonian lunch, fished (not for piranha), and saw the meting of the waters. A long day.View All 12,780 Manaus Cruise Port Reviews

Amazon RainforestJungle survival walk. Great guide, learned a lot about survival in the jungle. The ship let people go who couldn't really walk well - only drawback.View All 6 Amazon Rainforest Reviews

Asa Wright Nature CenterIf you are a birdwatcher it is paradise. We are. If not, you'll be bored as its birds, birds, birds. Not so much a nature enter. Its a birding center. You must bring binoculars.View All 5 Asa Wright Nature Center Reviews

They only spoke Portuguese so be prepared or bring a dictionary but it was a memorable experience. We ate amazonian fish and other delicacies. We walked back the the ship - a long walk by the river which was also fascinating.
