Day one. made friends with the bed bug that came crawling out of the couch. Not a great start. For this one issue we were compensated what i would consider the cheap way out but also fair enough. despite pest control "clearing" the room 2 more were found. I work as a general manager in hotels..I know a bed bug treatment takes more than 25 min. Guest services was less than helpful throughout the ordeal and we missed a part of our first day dealing with this. Not to mention I paid for a room upgrade to a balcony that we now felt uncomfortable being in. The only other thing I will mention is the dining service. We never received a drink before our food. this is not because the food came out quickly but rather the drinks were that slow. a one time occurrence ill give them but this was every single night we dined. If we wanted a drink at dinner we would take turns leaving the table, walk out and to the closest bar on the ship, get a drink and then return. We had to ask for bread almost every night and we never knew who our actual server was.

Let me sum up my experience with this...When we returned from our cruise on the pride we felt as if we were never on vacation at all. I do want to add I contacted Carnival and spoke to a guest care specialist regarding the stay. I am posting this review because i feel less valued as a paying customer after speaking to them. The interaction was like speaking to a robot who does not care at all about people who spend their hard earned money on a carnival cruise. I was given a 50 dollar on board credit for my experience... Things happen that is understood but when things do go wrong there is a value in the customer service provided. I was just another dollar in Carnivals pocket, it was a waste of what should have been a relaxing vacation.

Despite the horrible review based on customer service and the bed bug found in this room i will say that the balcony room was worth every penny. the room felt large and the obstructed view ( from this room at least) just meant that the the top of the life boat came to the floor of your balcony. you could not look straight down but had the entire view otherwise. should you choose carnival, spend the extra couple hundred for the balcony
