A number of recent review on Cruise Critic portray the Silver Shadow as an aging ship with substandard service and cuisine. We found the opposite. This was our tenth cuise on Silversea, and we were totally happy with the experience, We saw no evidence of an aging ship needing refubishment, service was impeccable, food in all of the dining areas was excellent (one could question whether La Dame was worth the premium), wines were fine, ports were great, most excursions were outstanding, staterooms were large, comfortable, and kept in great shape by the butler and housekeeper.

We actually felt two areas were significantly improved over previous Silversea cruises:

- Entertainment was actually pretty good. If you want Vegas shows, you'll be disappointed; if you want a pleasant hour before bedtime, you'll be fine with the on-board talent.
