My husband and I accompanied our daughter and son-in-law on a week long cruise with stops in Cozumel, Belize and Mahogany Bay, Honduras. As far as ports go they were adequate however there is no real good reason to stop in Belize. We did enjoy the Mayan Ruins and the cave tubing, but the rest of the island isn't anything special. The one thing I did not like was that it appears the cruise lines take advantage of the local people...no sales tax, don't contract with many of them for on shore excursions and all in all just aren't very considerate. We also did not appreciate the way the cruise handles wifi...it isn't free and it certainly isn't affordable for the duration. I was very upset that I could not check in with any of my family or critter sitter while on board. A couple of times on shore I was able to connect via free wifi. The food on board was adequate but nothing special. There was one dessert I truly enjoyed and was given it a couple of times at supper. The Italian restaurant was very good and I would highly recommend having supper there one night. Our wait staff was wonderful, especially Christopher. Our room staff was also wonderful, especially Arnata. I enjoyed my massage from Patty and the music provided by our DJ near the pool. We also enjoyed having a 21 and over area on board at the front of the ship on level 14. That was very relaxing for older folks. We did enjoy the musical show the crew put on one night. They were excellent entertainers, singers and dancers. And last but not least, we loved Shwartz, our cruise director...."Love ya". He was so high energy and was very entertaining.
My daughter and son-in-law booked a car for the 4 of us and they also went scuba diving from one of the resorts. They said it was very nice and enjoyed themselves. My husband and I walked the beach to another resort where we ate excellent food and enjoyed the views and weather.
