We just returned from a cruise on the Ruby Princess with the intent of a sea burial for our son's ashes. He was an avid traveler, loved cruising and wanted to be near his favorite Puerto Vallarta. We traveled with our daughter and her family and had requested the burial at sea in advance. We didn't really know what to expect but it could not have been nicer. We were told what day (2nd sea day) and given the location to meet someone from the staff who would escort us to a private location at the rear of the ship. In addition to a couple of staff members from Customer Services, Commodore Romero, the ship's captain, also joined us. He read a beautiful poem and then gave us a copy and also a certificate that gave us the latitude/longitude and it was recorded in the ship's log. Even though the burial of one's son is a tragic event, this gave us a pleasant, positive memory and a little closure.

We are truly grateful for the kindness of the staff and the Captain.
