Almost every aspect of this, our first cruise, was superb. A little difficult the first day, struggled through embarkation with disabled other half and then the mayhem of the safety meeting and pushing and shoving at elevators but once back in our suite and our third stray piece of luggage was retrieved we settled in to what would be a fun, scenic and very relaxed week of being pampered in the Haven. The restaurant staff were lovely and took pains to ensure we had the best experience. The Haven sun deck was so peaceful and well appointed but we did venture out to the other decks most evenings. The comedy show was hilarious in Headliners but not as funny for the show in the Escape Theatre?
Tendering to the ports was not an option available to us, but it was never our first priority we wanted to experience the cruise itself, so no complaints about itinerary and quite glad of the extra sea day when Falmouth, Jamaica was cancelled owing to bad weather in port. The weather was very kind to us Brits as it happens, no serious sunburn issues thankfully.
We met some lovely and some hilarious characters, ate some delicious food and strangely, drank not too much alcohol (for me, at least!). The winnings from the casino have paid for the cruise next deposits to repeat the Haven experience in the next couple of years, a Lottery win would have us back on board in a heartbeat!
Pretty roomy although could have used the extra space taken up by the tub? A great bathroom and a very, very comfortable bed. Dined only once in the room but a little tight for space on the small round table. Balcony was great and we were really surprised at how quiet the suite was but then not many on deck 16. Emil and our Butler Pedro looked after us very well, thank you to both.
