Sail Date: Dec 2017
Cabin: Balcony

We chose this cruise as we had never crossed the Panama canal, or visited Cartagena or Costa Rica. We could not do more than a 10 day cruise due to limited vacation time. The Caribbean Princess cruise thus fit the bill.

Positives:

1. Our experience in the main dining room, 8 pm traditional late sitting, was great. Wonderful table mates made the cruise for us. We were randomly (? I still wonder) seated with 2 other couples that we had met on the roll call, and we hit it off so well that we often closed the dining room down. Food was very good for the most part in the dining room, and the waiter and busboy were great- never a problem giving us pieces and parts of different selections, more than one appetizer or dessert, etc. We often had breakfast and lunch in the main dining room and the food and service there were generally good as well. However, the staff seemed somewhat pushed to the limit at those times, and food was often slow to come out.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BB

See above. Loved the closet space. Balcony was small but fine for our needs. Bathroom was small but not a real issue with only 2 people. Shower was tight but not a big problem and the curtain stayed in place without any trouble. We don't take baths so we didnt care about no bathtub. Carpet was sort of old looking as was the furniture but we weren't in the cabin much.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Stayed in the Best Western Plus precruise. Ubered to the hotel and the port without problems- about $12 each way. Ate at Coconuts for dinner- really good.

Falmouth

Did an independent city and food tour. Liked the guide and some of the food. City itself is not an attraction- dirty, poor and somewhat scary outside of the "fake city" port area. They need to skip Falmouth
