Embarkation went pretty smoothly. We didn't have to wait too long in lines, but we arrived early and have found this helps.

We booked a balcony room and it was more spacious than rooms we have had previously with just a window. We put away our belongings. Later that day we thought we might have some noisy neighbors as we heard loud music playing. It went on and on... and at one point we took a look in the hall and saw other passengers doing the same and wondering what was going on. We figured it out soon! Our cabin was located above the Palace theater! Every afternoon we heard the rehearsal and then the shows that evening. We tried to make sure we were at the shows, since we would hear them anyway. One night though we were tired tried to sleep and the shows went on until 1am! We went to the desk and told them we had a room where sleeping was impossible until the shows were over and got a VERY trite "sorry".

The service in the cabin was very good. Our room was attended to daily on time and they did a great job. Room service never delivered our breakfast one day. Our restaurant service in the Golden dining room was spotty. We started out with the 8pm service even though we wanted earlier times. Finally on the third night they moved us to the early service. We remember the servers hovering over us on other cruises, with water, bread, and asking if everything was ok. This rarely happened on this cruise. We think they cut back on the number of servers to passengers. A lot of our dinners came to us cold. They sat on a serving station until they could be served to us. Rolls were cold too, and forget about getting wheat bread.

Cabin Review

If you book at cabin on deck 6, please check to make sure you are not at the front of the ship above the Palace theater. The noise from the theater is so loud that the floor vibrates! Our balcony room seemed spacious with a pull out couch and table next to the bed.
