Chose this cruise because we had never cruised to Adelaide before. Travelled in a Grand Suite with my wife and adult sister, we also has long time friends on board.
Stayed in Sydney for three days in an apartment at Darling Harbour so no stress with flight times. Had a great time exploring the many attractions on ond off the water, had a great burger at Betty’s Burger near the convention centre and very nice Mexican lunch at El Comedos in the Rocks area. On the morning of the cruise caught the ferry from Barangaroo to Circular Quay, a short stroll to the OPT.
Even though we had priority boarding we arrived at 09:45 expecting to drop off our bags and go get a nice cup of coffee (ship coffee is normally horrendous), there was very few passengers so dropped off our luggage and were whisked through check in ending up on board at just after 10 o clock, a quick tour of the ship as this was our first time on Radiance then a lunch at Windjammers where we caught up with our friends. Staterooms were made accessible right on the dot of 1 pm so a quick unpack then a further look around. I thought Radiance was looking pretty good for her age the only bits that looked worn was our balcony which was in a good need of a repaint and new furnishings.
Great space, balcony quite narrow. Nice bathroom could have done with a grab rail, shower over tub might have access problems for some. Fantastic attendant.
Beautiful Harbour, so many attractions, awful traffic.
Port long way from town, depending on day, stuff may close early (like car hire companies), Adelaide has beautiful architecture, great town and wineries in the Hills.
Port redevelopment looks great, car access is confusing for first timers, good public transport to city.
