We mainly chose this cruise for the itinerary & because of the brand new ship. We have been on many cruises, only once on MSC(Divina). We were a little hesitant because of some of the reviews, but we were not disappointed. We had a balcony cabin & opted for the Fantastical experience, which worked out well because of the drink package. I do agree with some of the reviewers that I was surprised that they charge for water at dinner. All in all, the food was good, not great. The pastries and breads, however, were exceptionally delicious. The cabin was very nice & had some very cool features, the lights being one. The balcony wasn’t large, but we are so glad we had one because every day we were in a new & gorgeous Port! If you are going to The Mediterranean, balcony is a must! In Marseille, we did the hop on, hop off bus, which was great- we got off on our return at the marina area & had lunch at a charming sidewalk cafe. Genoa- we took the excursion to Portofino Bay- we had a lovely time- it is a ferry trip, which was a little shaky on the way back, several passengers were a little “green”, but we were fine. Next was Naples, we just walked the town & had pizza in a little alley way- very fun! Messina was next- we went on excursion to Taormina by bus, so beautiful on top of a mountain, lots of shops & beautiful churches. Malta- our biggest surprise, we went by cab- stopped at glass blowing factory- could have stayed for hours, so interesting & beautiful glassware! Next we went to Medina, the former capital- lots of shopping & beautiful cathedrals. On return, we spent an extra day in Barcelona-loved it!
