We chose this cruise mainly because it departed from San Francisco and that meant we would not need to fly. We had gone on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera with Royal Carribean when they used to do this route and we loved the Mexican ports, so we decided to try Princess for the first time. We knew the ship was an old one that had been updated, so that was ok with us. We did love the the new mattress that our balcony room had. Our room was very clean and our cabin steward was very nice and helpful. The ports and excursions were wonderful. One thing you may need to know for a cruise this late in the season on the Pacific coast from S.F is that it can get a bit cold and windy on the sea days as it was especially on our last two days. I was very glad I had packed a jacket, long pants and a scarf. Still the sun was shining and it was fun for the ship to go under the Golden Gate Bridge both ways.

We enjoyed the ship's entertainment in evening and we rated it very highly. The staff everywhere on the ship is absolutely wonderful.

One of our complaints were that there was not a luggage rack, even though I had asked for one. I have neck and back problems that make it difficult to continue to open and close my suitcases continually on the floor or to put them on the bed. I noticed the stewards going in many, many, elderly's passengers rooms alot with the folks in the room. That is probably what they were doing - helping them with their suitcases.

Clean and older design for a balcony than we are used to. The mattress is new since they updated the ship and we loved it. Best mattress on any cruise ship!

Princess cruise line did an excellent job with getting every one and their luggage on the ship quickly. We were impressed! Departing was just as easy.
