This review is not just my opinion, but also the observations of the other four people I was traveling with. First, this ship needs a major update. The carpet in one of our rooms was so worn, it looked like two different rug patterns. There are no message lights on the phones to let you know when you have one. Other than the main theater, all the entertainment venues are too small for the number of passengers on the ship. There is no sports bar. When it was time to disembark in a port, half the time there was no announcement letting you know it was ok to leave. When we stopped at Half Moon Cay, HAL’s private island, no one told us of the free barbeque lunch. The deck loungers are old and often covered in stains. We saw only two female wait staff in the dining rooms—why is that? The food in the buffet was the same everyday; no variety. The food in the main dining room was adequate but not outstanding. There are very limited entertainment choices on sea days. This is my second, and last, cruise on Holland America. Overall, I would give this ship a D- rating
