where to start.....and this is not just my opinion, we spoke to several other cruisers who felt the same as we did. we were originally scheduled to go on a 12 day eastern caribbean cruise, but due to the devastational hurricane, we were forced to go on a 7 day western caribbean cruise that norwegian turned into a 12 day cruise. we basically paid for champagne and got muddy water. we tried to cancel, reschedule, get an upgrade, maybe a few extras since we were at this point being forced to take this cruise but all we got from everyone INCLUDING the corporate office was basically..screw you! we were not looking forward to this cruise. We left out of New York 1 1/2 hours late on sunday and did not get to florida until tuesday at 10 a.m. yup we were late arriving. We had another change while on the cruise due to a medical emergency and sent to a port which required us to go to the south side due to bad weather and pay to take a shuttle bus to the main part of the grand cayman. we were also scheduled to go to another port on a Sunday and when we arrived, 80% of the town was closed.

most of the staff on the ship were not friendly and seemed like they wanted to be anywhere but on the ship. We observed dishes and glasses on top of or next to garbage cans, trash and food in the elevators, lights that did not work, while walking the decks, we saw an electrical box opened. When we reported the things we saw we were told it would be taken care of. sometimes it was, sometimes it wasn't. the guy in charge of entertainment made me want to put cotton in my ears and we did not attend any of the activities due to him. when we got to our room and met our cabin guy, we tipped him right away and let him know we were big coffee drinkers and all we ask for is coffee and creamers in our room at all times. we had to search for him and our coffee and cream every day, several times a day. The only positive things i can say about this cruise is that we got to go on a vacation even if it wasn't where we wanted to go, we got to met one women who worked in Cagney's whose name is Fiona and she was outstanding. Alexis who worked in the liquor store (we actually met him on the epic when we cruised to italy in 2015 and were surprised to see him on this ship) he remembered us and made it a point to satisfy our every need. Overall, we were extremely unhappy with this cruise from the day the itinerary was changed to the day we arrived back in new york. we haven't decided if we will cruise with Norwegian again since we do enjoy the freestyle.
