We just wanted to relax and unwind. The cruise fulfilled that desire perfectly. Convenience embarking/debarking and schools still in session made this cruise ideal. Boarding was a breeze. Debarking took more time due to customs delays but NCL had us off the ship in 10 minutes plus another 10 waiting for the elevator to ground level to get our luggage. TIP: lugging valises with you instead of putting it out the night before DOES NOT save time. Breakfasts were wonderful (5-star), Lunches were average (3-star), Dinners varied in quality of offerings with little on the palate. Service was very good. Biggest complaint was the Manhattan MDR where the Manhattan band and vocalist ofen had their amplifier at MAXIMUM to the point where you could not hear each other making dinner conversation impossible. Our complaints to the room manager were fruitless in getting them to lower the volume and allow normal dining. We switched to the two alternated MDRs, Savor and Taste for the remainder oif the cruise (same menu in all). The main con was the petty nickel and dime business. We did not use any excursions or participate in enrichment activities. The total cost including insurance and tips for 12 days was ~$2800, $117/day pp.

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BC

We booked a sailaway balcony 6 weeks before it sailed and within 3 days were assigned 13292 portside aft at 205 sq ft, very comfortable bed, robes on request, nice shower, plenty of closet/shelf storage space plus more next to fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, liquid soap, body wash, shampoo/conditioner in dispensers. Our steward, Maxie, was excellent. Balcony was small but adequate to enjoy sea views, read and relax. The whole cruise was smooth sailing even when waves were up tp 15 ft at times.
