Embarkation; we went on this cruise with 3 other couples including our long cruising buddies Ray and Lori. A HAL ship was in port loading passengers as well as ours. What a mess San Diego had better do something about that traffic if they are serious about being a cruise port. There is adequate parking from all the park and fly spots that include shuttles to the port but it is really crowed at the port with long lines through security. Once past that mess it was a breeze checking in and getting aboard. Our first port was Cabo, here we just shopped and wandered around. That night we did dinner at Chops. It was a nice experience and the meal was very good, but to me only slightly better than the main dining room. In Matazlan we did Stone Island through Matazlan Tours. Had a good time on Stone Island but most in the group felt they could have skipped the bay cruise and spent more time on Stone Island. In Puerto Vallarta I took the four wives to Dreams resort for the day and the other 3 guys went golfing. Thanks Cruise Critic members for the heads up on Dreams. Great place to spend the day. Almost forgot, we had a bit of excitement at the dock. The Carnival ship hit ours trying to dock. Just bent the bow of our ship and tore up the rear railing on theirs. In Manzanillo we used Chimal Tours and had a large van for the eight of us. We did the eco tour that went to the Turtle sanctuary where we got to release turtles and go through the mangrove swamp on a small boat. We got to see a small python hanging out on one of the tree branches that we went under. We could have reached up and touch it but no one volunteered to do that. After that we went to town for lunch and shopping and our driver got hit by a truck. No real damage but now that's two accidents in two days. In Ixtapa we did the shopping, drinking and sight seeing thing. This was a very pretty town, but very warm and humid. We had great weather the entire cruise starting about 80 in Cabo and about 90 in Ixtapa. This was our first time on the Radiance of the Sea's. A very nice ship that rarely seemed crowed. The Seaview cafe was a new experience for us. The food was excellent here and prepared after you placed your order. Disembarking; there was a Carnival ship at the dock but was there for its 4 day cruise. So only our ship was unloading. Still the same traffic mess in front of the dock though.
