This was our fourth Celebrity cruise, the first on the Silhouette. We had cruised the previous two Decembers on the Reflection and wanted something a little different this year. The itinerary and length of this cruise was perfect for us, so off we went.
I think that embarkation went extremely well considering we got there at approximately 12:30, along with pretty much everyone else sailing, but the lines moved smoothly and we were on board by 1:45 at the latest. Our tradition is to have the roast beef lunch in the Oceanview cafe pre-sail away--the meal was outstanding. Probably one of the best we've had for a while. I had been noticing a decline in the food quality on previous sailings, but the chefs on the Silhouette got it right! We were just starting to have our lunch when the announcement was made that cabins were ready, so as soon as we finished eating, off we went to find cabin 7202, our home for the next 9 nights.
7202 is a regular balcony cabin, nicely appointed and well maintained. Our cabin steward appeared miraculously in time to open the cabin for our first peak inside. Adi asked for any requests that we had and then did his best to make sure we were happy and comfortable in our cabin for the duration. We don't ever do the mini-bar or in room snacks, so we didn't ever worry to much about that stuff.
I'm not sure what category this cabin is, but it has an unobstructed view and is just in front of the hump.
We ferried into town and checked out the markets. St. Lucia is a very beautiful island
