NCL ESCAPE 20171209

• Travel To Port of Embarkation
All the cabins are spacious, clean and well maintained. I often get an inside cabin to spend the savings on a Spa pass which is $199. I go to the cabin to sleep, watch the news, or for quiet time. The Spa offers the best views as it is in front of the ship on Deck 16. There are also ample number of public areas that provide great views with comfort should you prefer not to buy the Spa pass and get an inside cabin. Deck 8 also provides a nice promenade with very comfortable seating; an option to the chaise lounges on Deck 16 & 17.
This time, however, I booked two balcony rooms on Deck near the rear elevators and they are excellent, of course. If you are near the rear elevators you have quick direct access to the restaurants which are primarily in the rear of the ship. If you book rooms towards the front of the ship you will instead be nearer to the entertainment venues but on the opposite side of the restaurants.
The balcony rooms include a coffee maker which is a nice touch for that first early morning cup. balcony rooms are overrated as the balcony is small and not as nice to relax in or as comfortable as the chase lounges throughout the ship’s top decks or at the Spa. The balcony is nice to have when you are at port and you want to relax in your room and enjoy the view of the port.when the ship is sailing the balconies are rather windy.
There are plenty of hangers and ample storage space but do not overpack. During the day I wore a bathing suit and in the evening I wore the same pair of trousers and shoes and alternated between two short-sleeve shirts. You can store your empty suitcases or your purchases under the bed so that you do not overcrowd the cabin space. The bathrooms are excellent and equipped with bath gel, a conditioning shampoo and hand soap. There is also a small bar of soap if you prefer to use a bar. The towels are of excellent quality as well and changed daily unless you choose to keep your towels for environmental reasons.
The beds are quite comfortable and the linens provided are fine.
