A friend suggested this sailing to us and we jumped on the bandwagon so to speak. We booked nine months before the sailing so it took awhile to get here. We invited some friends and family to join us and we ended up being a very compatible group of eight.
We decided to do Aqua Class for the main benefit of eating in Blu. This particular cruise we never stepped into the spa. But our friends did quite a bit with massages, teeth whitening facials and cosmetic enhancements.
I only had one disappointing dinner in Blu with the remainder being excellent. We were able to be assigned the same table for eight at 6:30 each evening. The front desk of Blu called it "request" since no reservations are to be made in advance. The lovely lady (wish I remembered her name) was so sweet and gracious that stood at the door of Blu. The restaurant manager stopped by and visited with us each evening and we always enjoyed talking to him. He was so tall and towards the end of our cruise I got up the courage to ask his height. Whopping 6 foot 7 inches!
Cabin was as we expected because we have been on the Reflection before along with several of the other Solstice Class ships. Our room steward was a lovely young woman who did her job well and we did tip her extra because of her service. The bed was near the bathroom which makes the sitting area more usual.
Loved Aruba. We had a wonderful dinner at a beachside Italian restaurant that we took a cab for transportation. It was right on the beach and excellent food with a lot of ambiance. The next day we went to a beach and had a delightful time.
We have been here before so we returned to a riverside outdoor restaurant and watched the pontoon bridge open and close.
We used Hilton reward points and stayed at the Hilton Marina in a tower water view room. I actually was awake and watch the Reflection dock at pier 18 the morning of our cruise.
