My husband and I choose this cruise because of price and itinerary. Over-all it was a good cruise at a good value, but there were some things that could have been better.
1. Our standard room 105: It was small but adequate and laid out well for the small amount of space. The location was fine for us, but if a person had trouble walking, it was located downstairs with no elevator. Although we had two small windows, most of the time when we were docked, all we could see was a cement post at water level. There were not enough racks to hang wet towels on. Also, when we showered, water ran out on the floor. The carpet and some of the furnishings in the room showed wear as did some of the furnishings in the public areas upstairs. It certainly wasn't the luxury ship depicted in the Viking commercials. We did get the impression that they don't like you take food back to your room and don't leave dirty dishes in the hall by your door. We have done that many times on ocean cruises, and it was always picked up with no fuss, but not this time.
2. Staff: Most of the staff was very polite and helpful, although at times, some of the customer service staff seemed a bit condescending and insincere. Our room attendant was not very friendly, and one occasion, rude.

We enjoyed the cologne Cathedral. The Christmas Market was a bit disappointing.
