Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

We picked this cruise because we were wanting to try one of the big ships.

Pros - stateroom was bigger than other different ships. Dining room food and service was excellent. Stateroom attendant was wonderful. Drinks were good. Shows and entertainment were great.

Cons - Smoke and AC were the biggest cons. Casino (smoking and non smoking side) were both too smoky for me to enjoy any length of time gambling. The elevator section outside of casino was also very smoky, even as far as the nearby dining room entrance. . Different areas of the ship seemed too warm at times. Daytime activities seemed more geared toward families and children.

Port Reviews

Labadee

Be prepared to say no. Often. Locals will not allow you to get a lounge chair, they tell you that you have to let them do it - and stand there waiting for a tip. Other cruisers waited til they were not around and grabbed a chair themselves. Asked a local where the restroom was - was told he would show or tell me for $2. No thanks, I'll find it myself. Shopping? be prepared to say no and be borderline rude. Prices go down the more you say no. Beautiful Island, but the pushiness of the locals was worst than any other port i've ever been too. Surprised that RC allows this type of behavior.

Falmouth

We walked around the shopping area. Felt safe, lots of great items for great prices. A little pushiness, but not as bad as Labadee. Again, learn to say no and keep walking - prices go down when you walk away.

Cozumel

We just did some local shopping. Locals were a lot less pushy than Labadee and Jamaica. Felt safe. Briefly wandered outside the cruise shopping area and had to show our sail pass to get back in. Decent prices but prices were more firm than the other areas. Lots of great shops.
