This was a new itinerary for us and an amazing deal. The Seas were very rough the 1st half of the cruise, but that's out of anyone's control. Our cabin was midship on deck 8 with a balcony and was perfectly located on the ship. Central to everything and never having to go outside to go anywhere. There was a large door at the entrance to our cabin area which greatly muffled any sound from the later hour activities. The sauna and steam room was complimentary and never crowded. It would have been helpful to have a timer in this room or an attendant to explain how to use these rooms. It was not staffed at all that I could tell. The ship was in beautiful condition, clean, and very detailed. Even the wall art on the stairways was changed daily providing lots of interest. The food was great compared to other ships and the design of the buffet with round stations and separate drink bars kept people orderly and never felt overly crowded. The selection of movies shown was great....but why they keep the lights on during the movie was annoying. Also a popcorn machine would have been a nice touch. Entertainment was good in the main theatre but cancelled one night... never found out why nor were we informed ahead of time. An announcement would have been appreciated. We showed up 1/2 ahead to get good seats but heard from other passengers that the movie Elf was being shown instead....very disappointed. Although good, there was a lot of piano entertainment and would have enjoyed more variety. The casino machines were the tightest ever....although I did hear one guest won a few thousand dollars, tried the slots several times, but a $20 bill in a quarter machine lasted 5 minutes and no play back.....got bored quickly. Never saw anyone "on a roll" the entire 11 days. The solarium was a wonderful place for adults to relax around the pool and hot tub, or just sit on a padded lounge chairs without the loud poolside music. Even the pool tables outside the Safari club were specially balanced to accommodate the movement of the ship. Made playing very fun! On the down side, smoking is still allowed in the casino. And vocals of the centrium entertainers was lacking..... many times you couldn't understand the words of the songs and just murdered many of the tunes. Overall, our experience was fabulous. Thank you!

Cabin Review

Cabin 8082.
Not sure which. E" class it wa but it was perfectly located on the ship and felt quite stable during the roughest seas.
Out steward was super. Beds comfortable, lots of storage space and mirrors. The hair dryer was awful, next time will bring my own.

The people were friendly and knowledgeable, but the horses were in sad shape.... very thin, one had a very bad eye, ungroomed, matted mane and tails, tack was rotting, stirrups mismatched, made me very sad. We walked nose to tail down a paved road with trash everywhere. Our horses were walking over broken bottles, cans, plastic containers, even dirty pampers! It was about 10 minutes to the beach where we walked by more trash and a few beach goers and 4 nude bathers, making a circle back up the paved road. We passed our starting place and continued down a dirt road to an old fort. This was interesting and we got off our horses, they freely grassed with bits and reins dragging while we explored the old fort and took great pictures of the remains and views. This was enjoyable. We then walked back to the starting point and was told the water was too rough to swim the horses, so they let some experienced riders canter and trot for 5-6 minutes on the beach accompanied by two guides each. Overall the guides were very nice a and tried to make our excursion enjoyable, however the owner of the horses and excursion company should be ashamed!!!

We had visited Aruba in the past so just wanted to so some snorkeling. Public transportation was available to all the beaches and very reasonable. However a private cab driver convinced us we would be hours getting anywhere by bus, so we took his cab, for $20 to Arisha beach to swim and a short walk to a snorkeling beach. The winds were strong and surf unusually wild so we opted to just play in the waves. Beach was clean, had restrooms (could have rented chairs, but we just sat with the towels provided by the ship)
Stayed 3 hours and decided to take the bus back...good choice. It took about 3 mins longer and was $5 for 2 of us.... lesson learned...trust the island information guide desk, rather than the independent cab hustler.
Would definitely go back to Aruba...beautiful weather, beaches, less expensive than some of the other islands and people are friendly.

I guess if you are 80 , this would be good, but we were in a large commercial bus, never slowed down enough to take pictures, I found our guide to be rather arrogant and condescending to others. Although she did provide a lot of information about the island, she had no personality and very stuffy... We stopped. at a beach, but not even long enough to drink a beer , I believe this was in Bathsheba..Also stopped for a short time at Park which was supposed to be a hilight, but it was fenced off, litter everywhere, few picnic tables. I saw a very large unique tree, but neither "Rose" our guide nor the driver could even guess what kind of tree it was. Our last highlight was another an old fort atop a hill. The views were nice, but overall, I was very bored and would never recommend this tour. Would have been better off to hire a cab and drive around to get the local flavor of the island. Disappointing

On a smaller bus with a very personable guide. Stopped at the Curaçao distillery, toured the facility and sampled the flavored liquors. Visited a beautiful resort beach with all amenities, shopping , chairs. The wave as were too rough to snorkel and rained off and on, however we walked the beach and enjoyed our stay.
We were in port until 9pm so we returned to the ship for lunch and went back into the city to sitesee, shop and see locals. Photo opps were amazing, city was friendly and fun. Lots to see and do, different from many other islands. Would definitely do this again. Heard others went snorkeling and said it was magnificent. Was a perfect weather day and one of our favorite ports.

Our guide and driver were great! It started raining and they supplied everyone with brand new yellow rains slickers! We stopped many times to take photos, he knew everything about the island, and natural surroundings. He brought along local spices, nuts, even opened a fresh coconut for everyone to try.
Very educational, fun and enjoyable despite the weather. The sun came out off and on and we went to a national park with a beach, chairs, another fort to explore and provided drinks and snacks. Despite the weather, we had a great time and would highly recommend " spider man" he (had a Tarantula tattoo on his arm) as a guide !
    Very glad we went
