We specifically chose this cruise because we have always wanted to see Cuba. We booked the first day it was opened for booking. We had a concierge veranda room midship. We had an odd number room. Suggest you get an even number for this cruise as you get a beautiful view of the mountains and coastline of Cuba much of the trip. The lectures by Sandy were awesome. And we had two special talks about Cuban film by a William & Mary professor that was very interesting.
The first two nights we had a Cuban menu in the Terrace Cafe so make sure that you don't book the specialty restaurants for one of those nights so you can enjoy the chef's rendition of classic Cuban food. The cooking demonstration was fun. Toscana was simply over the top! Polo Grill was great as well.
NOTE: if you are looking for Cuban cigars, realize cigar stores are closed on Sunday so if you get into Havana on Saturday, that is when you need to get them. It seems that all the tours in Havana end at the Arts and Crafts market. Not worth the time. Do book the Tropicana. It is a great show but realize you will get back to the ship after midnight so DON'T book a Sunday excursion that leaves at 7:30am!! You will also get a cigar (men), a quart of fine Cuban rum (for 4 people) and a glass of champagne and a Cuban coke. Take the rum back to the ship and save it for home. The ship didn't seem to care that we did that.
