Due to Hurricane Irma, our itinerary changed entirely, but the ports Norwegian chose were terrific! Having to adjust so quickly, they handled the port and excursion changes well. We were not refunded for our cancelled excursion at first, but one phone call remedied that. This was our first experience with Port Canaveral, and it was not good. In Miami, we use a park and shuttle service and they drop us right off to the porters. At Canaveral, the shuttles wait behind each other and drop off one at a time, which takes awhile. Then, you enter a very crowded room, with signs, but no personnel directing cruisers. We managed to find expedited checkin, but our agent did not give us a card with a group number until we asked. We were then assigned Group 16. At some point they ran out of cards and then started giving out Group 1 again, which meant that every group after us was going to get on before us. At that point, we joined a group with no cards and entered the ship with the excuse, "we have no card".

After that, the cruise was terrific! The staff was friendly, helpful and knowlegeable, the ship squeaky clean. The shows were amazing, and we had no trouble scheduling anything. There were way too many activities. As far as excursions go, we booked 1 NCL excursion, and it was good- Dunn's River Falls and Bamboo Beach Club. Our guide, Christine, was fun and she worked very hard. I would highly recommend this excursion in Jamaica. In the Caymans, we wanted to scuba, but NCL did not have that option, so we scheduled scuba with Cayman Turtle Divers, and had an amazing time with Chase, feeding sting rays, and I even saw a sea turtle. Chase is also a professional photographer and his pictures were wonderful. Our daughter was able to snorkel above us and see what we saw. We are going to schedule another dive with Chase on our next cruise in March.

One bad experience- Margaritaville in Grand Cayman. It looked to be so much fun- music, line dancing, an indoor water slide, but we could not get a waitress to come to our table, even when we asked another waitress, so we bailed and went to Sharkeez, which was nice, though quieter.

Cabin BC

The cabins are a bit odd, with the shower on one side, the toilet on another and the sink outside of both, but it was no big deal.
