Embarkation:

1st Time going out of NYC, so can't speak to if this is usual, The Good: Porters were quick to handle bags, got through security reasonably quickly... aside from that though, once in line it took about an Hour and a half to get onto the Ship, this was apparently a combination of the ship returning to port late and computer issues, from what i heard... still the Terminal left one lacking, there was hardly any air flow, which wold have been nice when you are sardine stacked in 5+ rows of winding lines, there was also not form or "entertainment" to keep one distracted while stuck in line, No music or TVs, anything would have been better than nothing!

Also we left late, around 5:30pm instead of 4pm, helpful hint, you get changed a tax on drinks when still in port (about 75 cents a drink) so beware with later or delayed departures, it adds up!

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Cabin B2

This suited all my needs and then some! As a solo traveler this cabin had more than enough space for me, if a family is traveling in this cabin you could probably squeeze 2 adults and 3 kids of various sizes if you really had to, but you would have to sacrifice Balcony use at night time, since there is a bunk type 3rd bed that drops down from the ceiling presumably blocking access to the sliding Balcony door (FYI).

The bathroom had three separate sections (Shower/Sink/Toilet) with sliding dividers.. i'm not large (Not tall, and somewhat thick, I'll be honest), but found that I kept knocking my elbows into the walls of the shower when washing, also the toilet had a funny angle that forces your leg/knee against the glass sliding door if it is closed when using that area, lastly I discovered the need to open the bathroom door in order to have enough "turning around" space when drying off after a shower... so just a few thoughts for those not traveling alone, or requiring in-room privacy.

All in All i loved the Cabin and it's location, Aft, very quiet, just a short stroll to the back elevator banks which were not used much, and made for easy access up to the Buffet or down to the Grand Pacific MDR.

There was nothing broken or at issue that i found using this room on this cruise, and my Cabin attendant "Fil" was friendly and made sure my stay was going smoothly, which is always appreciated when travelling by yourself, he always inquired if i had any special needs, but i found with his service, i was never lacking!
