Sail Date: Dec 2017
Cabin: Large Ocean View Stateroom

We had sailed on the Rhapsody of the Seas just last year. When our well laid plans of sailing on the Oasis fell through, we decided to move our reservation back to where we had sailed before. We had sailed Christmas last year, and the ship felt like home after only one night. Cabin 4510 (forward cabin), below the theater was ours this time. There was a bit of noise from the theater above. Nothing that kept me awake as it was quiet by bedtime. It is on the same floor as the dining room, and the R Bar, making it easy to get to the dining room and the Centrum. The cabin has enough room, but, there were 3 of us, and the outside cabin that says sleeps 4, only provided 2 beds. The other beds were bunk beds. These are not as comfortable, and a bit of a pain to get into if you are an adult. I was hoping for a fold out sofa. Next cruise we are booking a suite! The TV was useless except for the news (CNN and FOX). Continental breakfast is free to the rooms, but American breakfast and any other room service has a service charge. No fridge in the room. Most of the time spent on the ship is either spent eating or drinking. The food is good, and the drinks (especially the drink of the day) are tasty! Daily trivia, karaoke, pool activities were all very entertaining. The entertainment in the Broadway Theater was good, too. The comedian was funny (but was there last year and the routine didn't change). The dancers and band were really entertaining, and seemed to love what they do. The Head liners on our cruise were really worth seeing. The Beatles band Liverpool Legends, was really good, and Graham (the cruise director) made everything fun. We didn't see the final entertainer as we had a bit of seasickness and stayed in the cabin. With only a couple of minor complaints, this is a great ship for first time cruisers. I don't like that food service comes to a complete stop (except room service) after midnight. Other cruise ships we have been on had food service 24 hours. Also, if you are just a beer drinker, don't waste your time with the drink package. They have a beer bucket special after day 3. The ports of call were typical. Key West was new, however, and it did not disappoint. They were up and running after the hurricane, and there is a lot to do. I would have liked more time there. The other ports (Costa Maya, Cozumel and Belize) seemed to have many of the same items for souvenirs. Costa Mays vendors are a lot more in your face, trying to get your business. If that bothers you, just steer clear of the store fronts and make your way to the tours. Mom (80 years old), had no problem with the tenders at Belize, or even moving about the ship. Love the ship, and the crew. Would sail the same ship again if a different route was available.

The cabin is not new, but clean. Bunk beds were uncomfortable.
