Our background: We've taken 22 cruises. My wife's done 24. Just completed #10 for us (#11 for her) on Royal Caribbean.

Percentages say that we have chosen Royal Caribbean over other choices once we settled down to know our preferences. This cruise (our second on the Oasis) was overall just OK. We just did not have an “above average” experience. We're believing that Royal Caribbean has slipped in our estimation.

Some of our negatives: The first night's dining was awful. Not blaming the waiter, his tables were not next to one another. We saw him rushing to serve about 4 tables away. Appetizers were not delivered. Main meals were not delivered until other tables were leaving the dining room after dessert. When you are almost the last table leaving in a huge dining room, it is a sign that something is wrong. Complaints were made. The head waiter promised a better second night...and they did deliver. The head waiter monitored and assisted with the operation. On 2 or 3 evenings, he appeared with complimentary champagne.
