This cruise to South America is not the usual popular destination as the area is prone to bad weather and high seas. That was what attracted me to the destination. I selected Celebrity as in the past my culinary experience was very good. This trip however, the prepared paella more resembled saffron rice with seafood thrown in. Food is overall good just not as good as on previous trips.
The elite activities published and provided on the first day of the cruise seem to ALL be subsequently different than originally published. Locations and days changed. Delays ensued. The ability to attend wine tastings on time was zero and the welcome party impossible due to rescheduling too many activities on the SAME DAY. When having found the new location of the wine tasting the restaurant staff complained about our late arrival which was in no small part caused by the many schedule changes and delays.
I am traveling with one who has a cardiac condition. The most significant COMPLAINT I have is that very few staff seem to know where the emergency cardiac resuscitation (defibrillation) equipment is located and further they are instructed NOT to use them.
Very acceptable. Staff Steward very gracious and accommodating.
It took 4 trips to guest relations to get our room keys to open our cabin door.
