We just returned from a week cruise on the Jewel. We booked 8 cabins and had 16 people in out group. The ship was fine. The customer service was horrible.
The steward was never around and and turned the cabin down 1/2 the time. Ice? Forget about. When you do get it, it takes 40 minutes. You will become familiar with the term "no". Examples. . . This is freestyle can we get a dinner reservation at 7? "No." 7:30? "No". Can we order our free group picture. You know the one you promised us in writing of which we have a copy to show you... "No". Do you know where our luggage is? "No". Can we get an extra beach towel and another water glass? "No" Getting dining room reservations for our group of 16 people (8 cabins) required repeated calls tot he hotel director. On past cruises, I never had to contact the hotel director, on this cruise I had to contact him 3 times. Trying to get the free group photo took an entire day even with proper paperwork. That also required a call to the hotel director..so let's make it four. Getting ice in our room was a major task and let's not forget the extra beach towel (our room came with one towel for two people).
The is ok and there is plenty of it. The best food is in the specialty restaurants. The steak house is great the others pale in comparison.
