I picked this cruise a year ago after coming off the Dream, I wanted to try a different class ship this year to compare and find my favorite. This ship is not a good ship. I have been on 9 Carnival Cruises so far and I was so disappointed with this one I am going to cancel the next two I have scheduled for next year. The entertainment on this ship sucked, weather it was Jess the cruise Directors fault or the goober who was the Entertainment Director's fault. The activities was all based around Carnival selling their goods, had a full day schedule of Bingo, trivia, art sales, shirt sales, jewelry sales and I can go on forever but you get the picture. All the dancing and games they did set up was done in the hallway blocking people from going to and from different parts of the boat. The actual entertainers were poor, their dancing was based on other countries and they were long and drawn out with very little singing. There was a magic show that was good however he wanted to push the audience into buying his magic tricks. The food there was everywhere, anything you wanted to eat, with the exception of the buffet on the Lido deck, it was horrible. The buffet I ate two items off of it the entire cruise honeydew melon and croissants. If you take your week old left overs out of your fridge and combine them, that is what most of the dishes looked like on the buffet. Seafood Shack was very good, you paid for the food there a pound of boiled shrimp was $11.99 Crab $17.99 a pound but there were some affordable items on the menu. I have two other Carnival cruises scheduled for next year, but I think we are going to cancel until we forget the horrible cruise we had. I did not mention that this cruise was Dec 4th right after Triumph lost it's propeller in Progresso. We departed new Orleans not at 4pm as scheduled but 9 pm instead. This put us into Cozumel at 9:45 am on Wednesday instead of 7 am. This was a Cozumel Plus Cruise which was suppose to give us more time in Cozumel we were cut short, however we did make the crappy port of Progesso on time. We made it home at the right time which was a blessing and 5 inches of snow.

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin 4D

The cabin was as well as any other carnival interior cruise I have been on. Cabin boy did a good job once a day. But neighbors had clogged drains which made the maintenance men come around and snake the drains after we were in bed. Which made it sound like someone ripping off the roof. Some cabins had water leaks and the water ran into the halls from the rooms. BUT the shower head was awesome, best shower ever.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

We went to Mr Sanchez resort on our own. I have to say the food was great, drinks was great and the foot spa with feet cleaning fish was great. It had lots to do. But like all of Mexico, the locals worry the hell out of you wanting you to buy their trinkets and they no longer appreciate the tips you leave any more, they more or less demand them and a few bucks is never good enough. We had a waiter I can't remember his name, Marlon I think, but we rarely saw him. He had a assistant that did his dirty work for him he brought our food, cleaned our table and got our drinks. When we got ready to leave, we stayed 2 hours, we tried to tip the assistant but he was almost wrestling my husband to not leave until his got the waiter to take the tip. But after walking all over looking for Marlon, we finally told the assistant bye and then he finally took the $20 we offered.
