The ship, as many reviewers have stated previously, is missing some classic aspects of a cruise ship, most notably a promenade, a self-contained bathroom, and a traditional atrium. In contrast, there were positives, such the Speigel Tent, Cavern Club, and the Manhattan Room. The food was good—plenty of choices; service was good to great, depending on the situation; the entertainment was exceptional with a variety of choices of things to so every night except the last when the choices were surprisingly limited. We are Gold Latitudes members, (so we have cruised regularly with NCL and other lines) and we were disappointed with the lack of tier amenities provided on this ship: for instance, we did not receive an invitation to the caphtain’s cocktail party; in fact, the captain was conspicuously absent throughout the course of the cruise! Also, we received no priority tendering tickets or reservations or even information. Tendering was probably the worst aspect of the cruise because it was poorly organized. The other negative was the fact that—short of navigating stateroom hallways always—there was no way to traverse the ship without being subjected to the smoke of the casino. Unfortunately, it seems this ship caters almost exclusively to gamblers. Hopefully the fact that this is a one-of-a-kind class of ship, indicates NCL got their act together following this fiasco! The Breakaway class is a much better ship!

Cabin Review

Spa Balcony

Cabin B9

This cabin has a really nice extra-large shower with a solid sliding door (no shower curtain). The Bulgari amenities were a nice extra. Proximity to the spa was so convenient with no noise to worry about.
