We just got back from a 10 day cruise to the Canary Islands leaving from Barcelona.

Check in was fast and effecient.

Cabin 11126 was a balcony on deck 11 not a great location as the main buffet restaurant was directly above and at 2am and 4am and 6am you could here noise from getting the buffet ready. Beds were comfortable bathroom was small and not much cabinet drawer space for your clothes. T.V. programs very limited and some night the channel dropped out.

Balcony

Cabin BX

This cabin is below the main dining buffet Raffles so lots of noise sometimes at 2am and 4am and 6am when they are getting the buffet ready. Sometimes they dropped things and could tell they were cleaning the place. I would not recommend this cabin. Also it was at the back so lots of walking to other end of ship for the dining restaurants. Back seemed to have more vibration from the engine. Bathroom tiles were showing rust on the floor.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

We took a walking tour of the Gothic area of Barcelona put out by Rick Steve's.

We into the dept. store El Conte Ingles to the ninth floor to their cafertia and had a great dinner and excellent view of the Placa de Catulunya plaza.

Casablanca

We took the Norwegian shuttle into the city center but nothing there. We hoped into a taxi and went to Rick's Cafe, Hassen 11 Mosque, the white wall and did the Old Medina Market. Far too much pollution smog causes you to choke. Casablanca is a huge industrial port. We did not enjoy Casablanca. Lots of black soot on ship from the day in port.

Las Palmas (Gran Canaria)

We took the local bus for 1.40 euros to Vegueta and did a walking tour there of the market, Las Palmas Cathedral etc. very scenic and lots of historical buidlings.

Tenerife

We took our own walking tour of the downtown area and enjoyed also Parque Garcia Sanabria which is a botanic garden with fountains and statues.

Madeira (Funchal)

We took the yellow hop on hop off bus and toured the city. We then did a walking tour of the downtown area and enjoyed a glass of madeira wine.

Malaga

We did our own walking tour of the downtown area and enjoyed all the Xmas decorations and historical buildings.

Alicante

We took the free shuttle to the end of the pier then walked along the beach boardwalk and took the elevator lift up to Santa Barbara Castle. With photo id the elevator is free for anyone over 65 but the elevator doesn't open till 10am. We walked down from the castle and toured the town. One interesting street had huge mushrooms painted red and white.
