I went on a 7-night Caribbean cruise aboard the Jewel of the Seas over Thanksgiving. There were 7 of us total, in 4 separate staterooms.

Food: All of us had similar experiences with the food - It was all mediocre and lacked variety. Breakfast was the same-ol thing every day, and they even ran out of bacon and didn't replace it on the 1st morning! My mom is Gluten & Dairy Free, and while they said they could accommodate, there really weren't many options and she ended up eating almost the same thing nightly in the dining room (they could be more creative with potatoes/veggies, vs. serving a baked potato as the only side dish for every one of her meals). Lunch in the Windjammer also lacked excitement - only one location for burgers/fries, and with as popular as that station was, waiting in line wasn't worth the quality of food.

Spa: I visited the spa for massages on 2 separate occasions (1st day and 2nd to last day). The first day, the massage and treatment were as expected. The second time I visited, it was the worst massage experience I've ever had (and I've been receiving regular massages at least once a month for the past 3 years). It was obvious that they were short on rooms, as my therapist brought me into a tiny room that looked as though it was meant for facials. The massage table did not have a face cradle, and when I inquired about it, was told that the room did not have one. Instead, she offered me a sheet to put my face on. It was EXTREMELY uncomfortable (actually, painful) to turn my head at 90 degrees for an hour long massage. I was not able to get comfortable and relax, as my neck was turned so tightly. After the massage, the therapist told me that I had a lot of tension on that side of my neck/shoulders (no kidding after being in that position for so long!) and tried to sell me on a numbing spray. A few hours later, I began to have extremely bad neck and back pain as a result. When I went to Guest Services to provide feedback and give them an opportunity to make it right, I was put on the phone with the Spa Director. The only thing she would do for me is give me a 10% discount..which I felt was an absolute slap in the face and horrible customer service. I would not recommend getting a massage onboard this ship.

Cabin E1

Outdated. Nice central location, however, the music from downstairs carries up, so it was difficult to sleep.
