Friday night before the cruise, we did the Germaine's Luau. I ordered tickets by phone and used a AAA discount. It was a nice way to start the vacation. If you buy a tiki glass, they fill it instead of small glasses for your beverages. We stayed at the Hampton Inn Oahu in Kapolei. They have free parking and breakfast. Saturday we did Pearl Harbor before we sailed.

Cruise:

If this would have been my first cruise on NCL, I would have never sailed them again. I booked this cruise even after reading its mediocre reviews knowing that we were using the boat as a floating hotel for the Hawaiian ports..Although we had rain most days, Hawaii was beautiful. The cruise portion was just fair. I knew it wouldn't be amazing, but we're not into fancy restaurants or high class hotels, so I thought it would be okay. We had a BD level balcony and it was nice. Obviously, it was small but there was enough storage for all of our stuff. Suitcases fit well under the bed. Great view from the balcony. Our room steward was great. We didn't dine in any specialty restaurants. We have never done this before and been happy with the regular restaurants. The food was okay, but nothing impressive and a few items were not very good. It was kind of like food you would expect in a large cafeteria. Most of the servers were good, but we did have one that was quite rude. Instead of filling our water glasses, she tried to sell us to bottled water. Then she pushed wine. We told her no multiple times and she wasn't happy. The buffet was nice but it was usually fairly busy and hard to find a table.

Not overly large, but what you would expect. Enough storage. Clean
