I chose this cruise because I have been following the Allure since it was launched. The entertainment was wonderful. All the shows , Mamma mia, the Blue planet, the Aqua show, and the Ice Skating show were to notch entertainment of Broadway quality. Disappointed in the Headliner show as it was 2 comedians only that were not really very family friendly. They should do better on that one but the rest were superb.
Our balcony cabin on 8th floor near the elevator was great. Size adequate and only thing to add is that there really is only one plug at the mirrored dressing table in the main room . None in the bath.
The service was adequate everywhere. No complaints but nothing to shout about either. The entire ship is an absolute marvel. Rarely felt crowded and enjoyed all the different venues. The activities director was great with lots of energy . Particularly enjoyed his leading of the 70s dance party in the Promenade area. The food, in my opinion, was the weak link. Except for Chops grille, we ate all dinner meals in the Grand Dining Room. The food was marginal for the most part and a couple meals were really below par. How can you ruin a marinated chicken breast? But it was uneatable both times I ordered it. The Windjammer buffets were average . I am a big salad bar fan and there was a distinct lack of salad fixings here. Never did find an adequate Salad bar. That was disappointing.
Great location on deck 8 with central park on same level and near the back elevators.
