We chose this cruise as a (hopefully) fun way to end a trip to Orlando. I wish we had chosen another ship. The Majesty of the Seas needs some work. A lot of work. A good cleaning. A more organized staff. First, upon boarding the ship it smelled like a dirty locker room in the hallways and the lower you went, the worse the smell...the last few days of the cruise funk that seeps from the bathrooms. Our room was positively frigid. It had to be 60 in there. No matter how hard we tried, the temperature would not change. We called twice maintenance to adjust. Problem was supposedly resolved, but what was done was our air was turned off completely. An interior cabin on a not so fresh ship...not pleasant at all. A third call to maintenance finally resolved the problem and a part was replaced, but springs, wire bits and vent crud were left all over the floor. Not a single power outlet in the room functioned properly. All of our plugs fell out of the sockets. And the muster...what chaos. It took over 30 minutes to get muster completed and not a single staff member seemed to understand how to complete the process. One and a half hours after departure, the ship had to turn around and head back to port due to a medical emergency. The return delayed our docking in Nassau the next day. No one announced the disembark at the port. We waited for an announcement...none. People just got tired of waiting and started lining up. The port delay threw off many excursions and the staff had no idea how to handle the situation. At the port, the excursion staff sent us three different places. No one seemed in charge, it was like the chaos of muster all over again. We were scheduled to be in Nassau until 11:30 pm. 95% of the featured specialty shop were closed by 6 pm. The streets were empty. Only two dive bars and a Senor Frogs open and taxi drivers and T-shirt vendors at the port remained open. Oh, and Nassau was filthy. Windjammer cafe...half of the ice machines and ice cream machines were not functioning. Drink machines often empty. Dirty coffee cups mixed with clean ones. The dining staff in the Windjammer seemed to hate their jobs, never smiling or saying hello. The cabin attendants were simply okay. They were not exceptional in any way. One towel animal was actually made from dirty, damp towels off our (we hope) bathroom floor.

The good points...Coco Cay. The island was awesome. No excursions necessary. Snorkeling the reef from the beach was outstanding. The area was clean and well managed.

The main dining room...the food was very good the two nights we went. The main dining room staff seemed to be the only capable staff on the boat.

Interior Stateroom

Cabin K

Choose another one. It is very small, grubby, poor air circulation and very noisy when docking or departing. The entire room vibrates when anchors dropped and engines rev for docking. No refrigerator. Tiny dresser/vanity. The power outlets will not hold a plug.
