Chose this because family members had received a free cruise, so we booked with them on this ship. However, due to a norovirus outbreak in the two preceding weeks the ship was ordered for a deep clean. This also meant that various crew members were tasked with cleaning every surface of the ship the entire week we were out to sea, and they would also chase you down to ensure that you washed your hands any time you entered any public area (casino, dining areas, shopping areas). They would also leave the residue of the cleaning water on the surfaces and not dry it, making handrails extremely unsafe to grasp and so that you could not lean on any surface without soaking your shirt.

For Thanksgiving, the main dining area was a cluster and the waiting area outside got so hot that one young girl passed out and the ships medical crew had to be summoned. The food itself was awful and the service in the dining room was equally as bad. It took the server we had 20 minutes to acknowledge us! Thankfully we had purchased the 5 night dining package and the service at the other restaurants was far superior.

Overall, this is not a ship that I would sail on again because of the design and the experience we had. It feels cramped and tight, and you can definitely feel the presence of the huge amount of other passengers. They also have the running track on the top deck, and its bordered on both sides by deck chairs, and other passengers would just congregate in the middle of the track and block it almost entirely. In fact, we are considering examining another cruise line because of our dissatisfaction with RCI on the last 2 cruises we have been on.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Cabin was great and roomy! Plenty of space to put clothing and suitcases away. Shower leaked some water, but not a big issue.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Its pretty sketchy riding in, as it seems you are entering into an abandoned industrial park! But, once you clear all of that you see the terminal and all is good. They were able to board us quickly as well.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Nothing close, and unless you uber prepare to shell out a few bucks for RCI transportation.

Nassau

Cool as usual, Junkaroo was fantastic this go around.
