For my first cruise, I preferred a large ship with great onboard activities and good reviews from previous cruisers. It didn't take me too long to decide on the Oasis of the Seas (I could probably have liked Disney ships more but they are a bit too expensive for a first cruise).
The ship didn't let me down. I still remember how amazed my parents and I were upon stepping on this ship. The ship of such a giant size does have so much to offer that we were not able to experience all in the limited time we had onboard. All the four production shows were of high quality. As a musical lover, I especially enjoyed the experience of watching the stars of Cats sing in lounges just in front of me and touring the back stage with them as the guides.
The service onboard was exceptional. We were especially impressed by the care from the waiter and assistant waiter in the main dining room. The warmhearted greetings from the staff contributed a lot to our pleasure.
I don't know how it compares with cabins of ships of other cruise lines, but I do feel our cabin was a bit too small. Though, space in the cabin was well utilized with a lot of reasonably convenient storage areas. Furniture was a bit dated and there was noticeable wear--I hope they are planning on some renovation. The location of the cabin is great--we didn't suffer from any noise issue as it's far from public areas.
