This cruise was for celebration of my DH birthday and Thanksgiving. This was our 21st cruise with Carnival and twice on the Freedom. We felt the pairing was just off and we can’t pinpoint exactly how or why.

Boarding was very quick and easy in Galveston. Our room was clean and ready when we arrived around 11:15am, priority boarding.

We went to Steakhouse this first night and enjoyed our meal very much. We ate in the Main Dining room at a table for 10. Our service was quite slow and we missed stage shows due to the late serving. Also they have taken away the bar service and now order wine or drinks with your waiter which slows down the delivery for wine and burdens the serving team with more work.

Our Room Steward Laurence stopped by the first day and introduced himself and ask it we had any special requests. All requests were fulfilled and we think Laurence and his team were very efficient and seemed to be on top of it. Very Pleased.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Embarkation: Rain possibilities forecasted for Galveston again. Uber to port arrive at 11:00 and still lots of people outside who had just debarked. We checked bags with porter and proceeded to check in. Check-in was a breeze customer services reviewed boarding pass, medical disclosure, and used picture from our passport and sent us on our way. No sail and sign card, the boarding pass was just that, a “boarding pass”. The sail and sign cards were in our stateroom mail box.

Key West

We debarked and strolled thru the town. Had to hit Margaritaville, Sloppy Joes, and Captain Tony’s Saloon to mention a few. Great shopping, Clean town with little damage visible due to Hurricane season. Recommend 4.5 of 5
